In Miri, Sarawak, the story of RCCA Carolyne and her husband, RCCA Stephen has quietly inspired countless people. Both graduates of Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom, majoring in Building Construction Management, co-founded one of the most well-known tuition centres in Sarawak.
Carolyne, a dedicated Physics and Advanced Mathematics teacher, devoted over two decades to educating more than 2,000 students. Stephen, on the other hand, thrived as a shareholder in a construction company, using his expertise and business acumen to carve out his own success.
To many, they already had it all — a thriving career, a happy family, and a stable life. But deep down, they knew that life would not always sail smoothly. When the winds of change blew, they understood that only courage and decisive choices could lead them toward true transformation. And just then, life opened an unexpected door for them.
From Doubt to Witness
Joining BE was never part of Carolyne's plan. In fact, she was initially resistant to the idea of direct selling. Despite her friends' repeated invitations, she politely declined each time. Eventually, out of courtesy after turning them down too many times, she reluctantly registered as a member and tried on the AULORA Pants — just to "get it over".
Little did she know that this decision would plant the seed of change. After trying on AULORA Pants, she could hardly believe that the severe menstrual pain that had troubled her for years had gradually disappeared. On top of that, her upline's genuine care and consistent follow-up made her feel a warmth rarely found in the business world.
What truly changed her perception was a leadership conference, where she met BE's founder, Ir. Lee Suet Sen. His sharing completely overturned her misconceptions about the industry. The event was nothing like she had imagined — no rivalry, no pretence; just sincerity, unity, and gratitude. In that moment, she realised: BE was nothing like the direct selling companies she thought she knew.
BElieve That Everything Happens for the BEst
Even after witnessing the product's remarkable effects and also touched by BE's culture, Carolyne hesitated to commit fully.
For years, she juggled between managing her tuition centre and building her BE business, constantly feeling torn between the two. Her uplines encouraged her many times to go full-time, and though the thought tempted her, she couldn't bring herself to let go of the career she had built over two decades.
This indecision lasted for three years, until her health began to deteriorate. She realised that if she continued pouring her energy into the centre, her body would eventually give way. With courage, she made the bold decision to close the chapter on her 20-year education career and fully dedicate herself to BE. Just months later, when the pandemic struck, she felt grateful. Had she still been tied to the tuition centre, her livelihood would have been severely affected.
That perfect timing strengthened her belief: everything happens for the best.
A Partnership of 200% Strength
Throughout Carolyne's journey, Stephen was her unwavering pillar of support. As a construction company shareholder, he too had a stable career and comfortable life, yet he chose to quietly stand behind his wife, offering her space and encouragement to explore this new path.
But once again, life took an unexpected turn. In 2023, Stephen's health took a turn for the worse, forcing him to step away from his role in the company. After much contemplation and also constant guidance and care from his uplines, he decided to follow his wife's footsteps, leaving behind his achievements to join BE full-time.
They both knew that, without BE, they would have struggled to cope with the mounting pressures of health and career. It was because of this business that they regained their freedom and found new hope amidst adversity.
Rebuilding and Transforming: Helping Others Is Helping Yourself
After the pandemic, the market changed rapidly, Carolyne and Stephen's team went through a challenging period where many partners lost motivation. Yet they refused to stop. They chose instead to start afresh by learning new skills, embracing hybrid models, and reigniting the team's spirit.
To them, BE stands out not only for their products but also for their profound purpose: to create wellness for everyone. The founders' humility, the company's charitable culture, and its fair and transparent system showed them a path where anyone could succeed.
Today, they've transformed their "passion for education" into a "mission to uplift others". Once, they brightened young minds through teaching; now, they empower their team members to achieve dreams they never thought possible.
