RCCA Loh Soo Hau and Shirley Tay led a simple family life after they got married. Soo Hau was the main breadwinner while Shirley was contented with her teaching job. Raised on the mantra that stability is the key factor to a happy life, nevertheless they quit their stable jobs to pursue BE fulltime. Here, they share their reasons for doing so.

Their BE journey began when Soo Hau bought a pair of Aulora Pants for Shirley. "It was the best gift ever because my stubborn belly flattened within 10 days of wearing it," she exclaimed. "Soo Hau was a salesman, so I told him he should share this. But not me, I was not a sharer, I was a teacher. Sales was not my forte!"

One year after doing the BE business part-time, Soo Hau bravely decided to make BE his fulltime career. Shirley wasn't sure. She wanted more information before making a decision. "So, I took one year's unpaid leave in 2019 to focus on BE. In 2020, I resigned from my teaching job, gave up my pension and joined my husband fulltime in BE."

Although they had a comfortable life even before their BE business, Soo Hau knew a long-term plan was needed if they wanted to maintain their standard of living.

"I had been doing sales in the electronic industry for almost two decades, but I was still an employee. I did think of setting up my own business but the lack of capital and fierce market competition stopped me. BE offers the best platform to fulfil my dream. It's a networking business that requires low capital, and no special background or education. Anyone and everyone can join." He proudly shares: "Our network has just nurtured two sisters aged 89 and 86 years respectively to become Sapphire Ambassador!"

As for Shirley, she relishes the opportunity BE provides for her to nurture people. "I was a primary school teacher for 15 years. I love my students. But I only have 6 years to nurture them. At BE, I can be a good influence to people for the rest of their lives."

When the couple were pursuing different careers, they had different experiences and conversation topics. "Soo Hau was always tired of listening to my school stories. I wondered when we're old, would we be two old people talking about our own stories with nothing in common?! But now, we share common interests, friends, goals and dreams," she enthused.

"Keep an open mind and listen to those who want to share BE with you. You never know that it might be the opportunity and the change you need. Dare to embrace change. In the future, you'll thank yourself for making the wise choice now. Ultimately, having the right platform is more important than sheer effort," Soo Hau concludes.
